CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia volleyball right side Jelena Novakovic (Belgrade, Serbia) was named to the All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday (Jan. 29).

Novakovic, a graduate student, earned the distinction for the first time in her career. Her selection to the All-ACC Academic Team marks the fourth consecutive season a Cavalier has appeared on the squad.

In her final season on Grounds, Novakovic led Virginia with 286 kills while hitting a career-best .228. She also posted a career-high 42 aces from the service line. Her play helped the Cavaliers to their most wins in a season since 2015.

Novakovic adds the award to her VaSID All-State selection announced earlier this month.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
