CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia director of track & field and cross country/associate athletics director of administration Vin Lananna announced the UVA men’s and women’s track and field team’s 2020 indoor schedules today (Jan. 3).  
 
The Cavaliers will compete in six regular-season events over a two-month stretch. The schedule opens at the Virginia Tech Invitational (Jan. 17-18) before the Cavaliers make a return trip to Blacksburg a week later for the Hokie Invitational (Jan. 24-25).
 
In February, Virginia will head to the Navy Invitational II (Feb. 1) before returning to Virginia Tech for the Doc Hale Elite Meet (Feb. 7-8). The Cavaliers will close the regular season (Feb. 14-15) sending a split squad to the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston and the Tiger Paw Invite in Clemson, S.C.
 
Notre Dame will host the ACC Championships in Notre Dame, Ind., (Feb. 27-29), while the NCAA Indoor Championships will take place in Albuquerque, N.M.
 
Virginia will look to build off last year’s strong indoor campaign. Jordan Scott (Portmore, Jamaica) won the NCAA indoor triple jump title and was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s (USTFCCCA) Southeast Regional Indoor Field Athlete of the Year and the ACC’s Indoor Field Performer of the Year. Brenton Foster (Townsville, Australia) also advanced to the NCAA Championships, earning All-America honors with an 11th-place finish in the high jump. The Cavaliers return five of last year’s 11 All-ACC honorees, including first-team honorees Foster, Scott and Halle Hazzard (Commack, N.Y.).
