NORFOLK, Va. –  The final rounds of the ITA Atlantic Regional Men’s Tennis Championships are being hosted by Old Dominion and will take place Saturday through Monday, Oct. 23-25 in Norfolk, Va.

The tournament will feature 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams vying for the regional titles. Live scoring will be available for most main draw matches.

For the first time, the Intercollegiate Tennis Associations’ regional championships were split with qualifying matches happening at different regional sites earlier this month. Sixteen singles players and eight doubles teams earned spots in those field through qualifying. The remaining 16 singles players and eight doubles teams earned direct entry into this week’s Super Regional by virtue of their ITA and/or UTR ranking.

Bar Botzer and Alexander Kiefer both earned spots in the singles tournament through qualifying. Despite coming up through qualifying, Botzer earned the No. 4 seed in the draw. Jeffrey von der Schulenburg is the top seed with Iñaki Montes the two and Ryan Goetz the three. Botzer and von der Schulenburg will partner in doubles and are the No. 4 seed. Goetz and Montes will play as an unseeded team in the doubles draw.

The regional champions will earn an invitation to compete at the 2021 ITA National Fall Championships being held Nov. 4-7 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.

Goetz was the tenth player in UVA program history to win the singles title at this tournament when it was last held in 2019. He joined Huntley Montgomery (2000), Dominic Inglot (2007-08), Jarmere Jenkins (2009-10), Harrison Richmond (2012), Ryan Shane (2014), J.C. Aragone (2016) and Aswin Lizen (2017) on the list of Cavaliers who have all won the singles title.
