Emma Navarro Competing in the LTP W100 Charleston Tournament

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Virginia women’s tennis sophomore Emma Navarro is competing this week at the LTP W100 Charleston clay court tournament in Charleston, S.C.

She faced No. 161 Alexandra Ignatik of Romania in the first round, winning 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the Round of 16. She faced the tournament’s top seed, No. 105 Irina Maria Bara. of Romania on Thursday, falling 6-2, 6-1. Navarro is currently ranked No. 222.

The event is an ITF World Tennis Tour 100K level tournament.

This is a bye week for the Cavaliers who will return to action next week in the opening rounds of the 2022 NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship.
