Meike Conijn

• Came to the University of Virginia as an exchange student from the Rotterdam School of Management, spending one semester at UVA

High School/Club Hockey

• Made her debut with MCHR Field Hockey Club’s senior squad at 14 years old
• Played for Hockey Club Den Bosch, training and competing with its U18 squad at the national level
• Helped lead her team to a second place finish at the 2016 national championship for development squads
• Also enjoys sailing and snowboarding
• Competed in a national student sailing race, sailing from the Netherlands to England

Personal

• Parents are Geert Conijn and Monique Heemelaar
• Has a younger sister, Fanne Conijn
• Was a member o the 2016 Socrates National Honors Society, honoring the top one percent of high school graduates in the Netherlands
