Was a tight end at the Landon School for head coach Paul Padalino … prepped one season at Fork Union Military Academy where he played linebacker for head coach John Shuman … started high school career in 2012 playing tight end at DeMatha Catholic … was a first-team All-IAC honoree at tight end … standout lacrosse player at Landon … son of father Howard Petty and stepmother Katherine Petty … has two younger brothers, Carson and Thomas … has one younger sister, Crosby … father, Howard, is a 1986 graduate from the University of Virginia and was a standout running back for the Cavaliers … his father, Howard, is No. 14 all-time in the UVA history books with 2,171 career rushing yards and still holds the freshman school record with 835 rushing yards (1983).
