Kate Rownd - Swimming & Diving - Virginia Cavaliers

Kate Rownd joined the Cavalier swimming and diving program as a volunteer assistant coach in August 2013.

Rownd aided the sprint group in 2015-16 where the Cavalier women finished sixth in the 200 free relay at the NCAA Championships.

Rownd comes from Johns Hopkins where she was member of the Blue Jay swimming and diving and track and field/cross country programs. On the swimming and diving team, she specialized in the 1,650 freestyle, 200 breaststroke and 400 IM. She was also part of the Johns Hopkins cross country squads that captured the NCAA Division III Championship in 2012 and 2013.

She is a three-time qualifier for the USA Triathlon National Championships and qualified for the 2013 ITU World Triathlon Championships for Team USA.

Rownd graduated from Johns Hopkins with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral biology in 2014 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in kinesiology-exercise physiology at UVa.
