CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia softball team (32-17, 15-9 ACC) earned the fourth overall seed in the ACC Championship and will open play against fifth-seeded Clemson (33-16, 15-9 ACC) in the quarterfinals on Thursday (May 9) it was announced on Sunday.

First pitch is set for 1:30 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast on ACC Network. It’s the highest seed for Virginia since the Cavaliers were seeded second at the 2010 ACC Championships.

Virginia earned the four seed by virtue of tiebreak after taking the weekend series from the Tigers back in March. The Cavaliers won 7-of-8 ACC series played this season and set a program record with 15 wins in conference play this season.

Ticket books, which include tickets to all nine games, including the championship game on Saturday, range from $12-25. Daily tickets are also available, with prices ranging from $5-10.
