Log in to your UVASHOTS account above to request or claim your student ticket to Men’s Basketball games or to purchase student guest tickets (if available – football or men’s basketball).

UVA students earn Sabre Points by attending home athletics events to provide additional entries into the lottery process for admission to home men’s basketball games.

IMPORTANT: To receive your Sabre Points at ticketed events, be sure to scan your physical or mobile student ID card at the gates. To receive your Sabre Points at non-ticketed events, be sure to scan your student ID number at the Marketing table inside the main gates. Sabre Points will not be retroactively applied. Students who check in and immediately leave an event will be subject to the loss of Sabre Points for that event. ID’s will not be scanned and points will not be awarded after halftime.

FOR MEN’S BASKETBALL:

  • Students who claim a ticket but later decide not to attend the game for whatever reason must return their ticket online no later than 12 p.m. the day prior to game day to avoid losing Sabre Points.
  • Students who return their ticket after 12 p.m. the day before, but before tip-off on game day will lose one Sabre Point.
  • Students who do not attend the game and fail to return their ticket, will lose two Sabre Points.
  • Students who are no longer planning to attend the game should return their ticket to avoid losing Sabre Points and to allow another student to claim the ticket.
Student tickets are non-transferable. Students must present their student ID and student ticket upon entry at the student gate which is located at the Southeast corner. Each student is assigned a student group with an assigned entry time. Student groupings are based upon Sabre Points. Students attempting to enter John Paul Jones Arena with a ticket belonging to another student will be denied entry and are subject to having ticket privileges revoked for the remainder of the season.
