  • Opened the season with a quarterfinal showing at the Brisbane International, including knocking off No. 4 Elina Svitolina in the opening round in a match in which she only conceded two games and lasted less than an hour (1/12)
  • Advanced to the second round in singles and doubles at the Australian Open (1/21)
2019 Highlights

  • Advanced to the semifinals of the Australian Open, becoming the first former college women’s tennis player to reach the semis of a Grand Slam. Collins came into the tournament without ever having won a match in a Grand Slam. In her run to the semis, the unseeded Collins upset No. 19 seed Caroline Garcia and 14-seed Julia Goerges before downing No. 2 Anjelique Kerber in straight sets in the Round of 16. Her run came to a close with a loss to runner-up Petra Kvitova (the No. 8 seed) in the semis
  • Made it to the Round of 16 in doubles at the US Open, partnering with Ellen Perez of Australia
  • Named to the US Fed Cup team for the second time, making her on-court debut in a quarterfinals tie against Australia. She defeated Daria Gavrilova, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2, in singles, knotting the match at two, but Australia pulled out a 3-2 victory to advance to the semis (2/10)
  • Downed Tatjana Maria 6-0, 6-2 in the first round of the French Open before falling in straight sets to the No. 8 seed Ashleigh Barty in the second round (5/26)
  • Advanced to the third round at Wimbledon, picking up wins over Zarina Diyas and the No. 12 seed Anastasija Sevastova (7/6) and making it to the quarterfinals in doubles, partnering with Bethanie Mattek-Sands

  • Returned to the court after missing a year to injury, playing in the Monterrey Challenger (4/1-7)
