Annemarie Miskovic is in her fourth season as an assistant swimming coach at Virginia. Miskovic began her coaching career at Virginia in November 1999, but her coaching experience dates back to the early nineties, when she worked with the top-ranked Croatian Academic Swim Club “Mladost.”

In her role as assistant coach, Miskovic is responsible for all aspects of swimming and strength training for the men’s and women’s sprint programs, along with recruiting and the academics of student athletes. She has presided over the resurgence of the Cavalier sprint program with her creative coaching. Miskovic has coached swimmers from both the men’s and women’s teams to All-America honors.

Miskovic graduated from the University of Zagreb in 1996 with a degree in exercise science and physical education. Prior to joining the Virginia coaching staff, Miskovic served as a volunteer assistant coach for Arizona State University’s women’s swimming team while she was pursuing her Master’s Degree in motor learning.

A native of Rijeka, Croatia, Miskovic has extensive coaching experience which includes working with Sun Devil Aquatics and the Charlottesville Youth Aquatics Club as an age group coach. In addition, Miskovic brings experience from coaching the top-ranked Croatian Academic Swim Club “Mladost,” which has produced numerous National champions and Olympians.

Miskovic is an accomplished athlete in her own right, successfully completing several marathons and formerly competing in alpine skiing, track and water polo on the national level in Croatia.
