Brian Kollar

Track & Field Volunteer Assistant Coach-Throws
Position

School record holder and two-time All-American Brian Kollar remains a part of the program for the 2003-04 season as he will serve as an assistant coach. A three-time ACC Champion in the javelin, Kollar won his first conference title in 2000 and followed that up with a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships. In 2001 Kollar defended his title and set the school record en route to earning his second consecutive All-American honor at the NCAA meet. After a red-shirt year due to injury in 2002, Kollar came back to win his third ACC title in the javelin before an injury forced him to decline his bid to the NCAA meet in 2003.

A national champion as a junior in 1998, Kollar competed at the World Junior Championships as a member of the USA team and again as a member of the team that competed at the World University Games in 2001.

Kollar graduated from Virginia with a degree in anthropology in May 2003.
