Jason Somensatto

Jason Somensatto is in his first season as an undergraduate assistant coach for the Cavaliers. Before undergoing a career ending emergency open heart surgery at age 14, Somensatto was an 11-time national age group top-16 qualifier and two-time Junior National qualifier.

Somensatto has considerable coaching experience. He was the head coach of the Lakeview Marlins in 2001-02, a team he led to an 8-2 overall record and the NVSL Division 14 Championship. Somensatto was also an assistant swimming coach at Paul VI between 1996-00 and the Wakefield Chapel Wahoos between 1995-00.

The Annandale, Va. native is a second-year at Virginia in the College of Arts and Sciences. His older brother Jeff swam at Auburn University.
