Kailah Murphy is a credentialed registered dietitian (RD) through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She earned a bachelor’s of science and master’s of science in nutrition from Boston University and completed her dietetic internship at Good Samaritan Medical Center, UMass Health Alliance, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, and the Walden GOALS Program, an eating disorder treatment program specifically for competitive athletes.

In her current role, as the Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition at the University of Virginia, Kailah works with Olympic Teams, including Track & Field and Cross Country, Swim and Dive, Women’s Field Hockey, Women’s Lacrosse, and Men’s Soccer. As a sports dietitian, She is passionate about educating individuals and teams on where nutrition fits into their overall health, defining their optimal well-being, and utilizing nutrition to find their edge.

Prior to joining the Cavaliers, Kailah was the Lead Dietitian at the Walden GOALS Program, where she gained a deep understanding of the unique challenges athletes face. She is committed to translating evidence-based nutrition science and identifying unique psychological and biological needs to work toward each individual’s ideal relationship with food.

Additional internship experience includes: University of Virginia, Boston University, Boston College, St. Joseph’s University, and Temple University.
