USA National Champion Kiamesha Otey joins the Virginia coaching staff after a successful collegiate career that saw her win two ACC titles and three All-American citations. After winning the ACC indoor long jump title in 2003 and taking second in both the 60m and 200m dashes, Otey became Virginia’s latest national champion a week later with a first-place finish at the USA Indoor National meet held in Boston. Otey was also named the ACC Performer of the Week after winning three events at the Lou Onesty Invitational in April.

Otey, a native of Quinton, Va., ranks second all-time at Virginia in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes and in the long jump. She earned a bid to the NCAA Championships four times and was a member of the All-Conference team six times in her career.

Otey graduated from UVa with a degree in sociology in May 2003.
