The McArthur Squash Center opened in the fall of 2013 and is operated for the University of Virginia by the Boar’s Head resort, which is a subsidiary of the University of Virginia Foundation.
In the fall of 2018, the Cavaliers opened the doors to a five-court, multi-function expansion that included offices, team rooms, study areas, locker rooms and weight room. The expansion adds four ASB System 100 international singles courts and an ASB four-wall glass court for spectators to view matches from all angles. Additionally, the expansion is LEED certified.
The 2018 addition complements the original LEED certified 33,000 square-foot and $12.4 million complex, providing 12 ASB System 100 international singles courts, two ASB four-wall glass feature courts and two ASB hardball doubles courts for the team to use. At its center, the glass-walled international show court includes spectator seating and also an audio-visual recording system for live web streaming of tournaments.
McArthur Squash Center is the home of the Virginia men’s and women’s squash teams, who compete in the College Squash Association. The center serves as a gateway for the athletic development at the University, bringing top-level intercollegiate play, professional singles and doubles squash events and adult tournaments to Central Virginia.
