Patrons 21+ will be permitted to purchase four (4) drinks while attending an event in John Paul Jones Arena. Event Staff will be checking IDs and monitoring the quantity of drinks purchased.
Outside alcoholic beverages or containers of any kind are not permitted to enter athletics facilities. Intoxicated guests or persons identified with alcohol brought from outside the venue will be subject to removal from the facility.
Animals are prohibited in the facility with the exception of service animals assisting guests with special needs.
Banners, signs, and flags are allowed in athletics facilities provided they do not impede another guest’s view of the competition, cover any facility signage, and/or are not attached to the facility. Banners, signs, and flags on poles or sticks are prohibited. Athletics Event Management reserves the right to remove any banner, sign, or flag that is in violation of the policy.
Cameras with lenses less than six inches are allowed. Flash photography and stands/tripods of any type are prohibited.
Public elevators are located on the concourse adjacent to sections 101, 109, 301, and 309.
In accordance with Atlantic Coast Conference and University of Virginia policies, guests are prohibited from coming onto the field or court at any time. Only participants, coaches, officials, and authorized personnel shall be allowed in the competition area before, during, and at the conclusion of the competition. This policy is for the safety of our guests, the officials, student-athletes and coaches.
First Aid stations are located across from sections 309 and 109. In addition, if first aid is needed, please notify the nearest staff member.
John Paul Jones Arena is committed to providing proactive immediate response to issues affecting guests. Should a concern arise during an event, please visit the Guest Services Booth (sponsored by RMC Events) at Section 308, on the main concourse, to have your concern addressed or make a nearby staff member aware of the concern.
For any situation regarding lost and found items during an event, please go to the Guest Services Booth (sponsored by RMC Events) located at section 308 on the main concourse.

Re-entry into all ticketed athletic events at UVA is prohibited.
All Men’s, Women’s and Family restrooms are equipped with baby changing stations.
The University of Virginia prohibits smoking and vaping in all facilities on Grounds, including athletics facilities.
Direct advertising, sales, and solicitation by outside vendors are not permitted on Grounds. Any distribution of materials on public property shall not disrupt University business, generate security issues, or block sidewalks or roads.
For safety reasons, throwing objects in any athletics facility is prohibited. Violators are subject to removal from the facility.
Water fountains are located throughout the Arena on the Event, Lower, and Upper Levels.
*The University of Virginia reserves the right to prohibit any item deemed hazardous or disruptive to the athletics event or the enjoyment of the event by other guests.
All guests are subject to inspection and search for prohibited items. Event staff reserves the right to examine the contents of bags, jackets, pockets, or any other personal item before admitting guests to the facility. In order to expedite entrance into the facility, it is recommended that guests not bring bags to events and arrive early at the facility gates.
University of Virginia athletics events should be an enjoyable experience for all guests. To help us reach this goal for fans, staff, and student-athletes, we ask for your assistance in displaying a high degree of sportsmanship at all times.
Season tickets will be delivered via e-mail approximately 2 to 3 weeks prior to the start of the season. Single game tickets will be delivered by email no later than 7 days prior to the game. After this time, email delivery of tickets remains an option until game day.
Mobile delivery tickets are sent from uvatickets@virginia.edu. Be sure to include this email address on your trusted sender list.
If you misplace the email with your tickets, on your smartphone click here to sign in to your online ticket account and then you can access the tickets. Be sure not to text the tickets to your phone number as the tickets are already in your account. If you transfer tickets to your phone number, you will need to cancel the Pending Transfer to regain access to your tickets.
Screening procedures will be in use at all entry gates. Walk-through and hand wand metal detectors will be the primary means of screening. For guests who are unable to utilize a walk-through metal detector for medical reasons, hand-held metal detectors will be used. Any person who does not consent to screening will be denied entry into the stadium.
Virginia Athletics has a clear bag policy and entrance procedures for home football, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, and lacrosse game, baseball and softball games. The policy and entrance procedures are for large-scale events held on Grounds by the University of Virginia.
The policy limits the size and type of bags that can be brought into venues. The policy does not change the items fans may bring into the stadium but restricts the type of bag used to carry items.
Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to: purses, wallets or clutches larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, diaper bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size. Seat cushions and seat backs are permitted as long as they are not in a carrying bag.
Medically necessary bags are permitted to enter at any gate. Please designate yourself to the security screening staff member, who will direct you to a secondary bag search. Once cleared you will receive a temporary wristband to place on your bag and should not be removed until after you have left the venue. Diaper bags are not a medically necessary item. All items needed for small children should be carried in a clear bag.
Will Call is located at the John Paul Jones Arena Box Office. A photo ID of the person who placed the order is required to receive the ticket.

The University of Virginia provides accommodations for guests with disabilities at all athletics facilities. Accessible seating is defined as wheelchair spaces and companion seats of the Department of Justice guidelines pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act. A public entity may investigate the potential misuse of accessible seating where there is good cause to believe that such seating has been purchased fraudulently.
Individuals who receive a ticket from a source other than the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office and need an accessible seat should contact the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office to inquire about an exchange on a single game basis of one ticket for an accessible seat and one companion, if available. Once a game becomes sold out, no tickets are available for purchase or exchange in accessible seating locations.
