COLORADO, Colo. – Virginia sophomore Cherrise Graham (Conshohocken, Pa.) is one of sixty top collegiate athletes that have been invited to the USA Basketball Women’s National Team Trials, USA Basketball announced on Tuesday.

The USA Trials, held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., are slated for May 22-25 and will be used to select a pair of 12-member 2003 teams, including the USA World Championship For Young Women and USA Pan American Games squads.

Ohio State’s Jim Foster will coach the World Championship For Young Women Team, while Virginia’s Debbie Ryan will serve as head coach of the Pan American Team. The World Championships will take place in Croatia on July 25 to August 3. The Pan American Games are set for August 2-9 in the Dominican Republic.

Graham, a 5-7 guard, was the Hoos’ leading scorer with 14.8 ppg off the bench. A second-team All-ACC selection and honorable mention All-State honoree, Graham earned first-team All-ACC Tournament accolades following her career highs of 36 points and eight rebounds against No. 9/11 North Carolina in the tourney semifinal. UVa’s best free throw shooter at .810, she set the school record this season for consecutive free throws made with 31 straight. At the team’s annual awards banquet, Graham captured Best Offensive Player honors.
