CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team completes the fall portion of its 2003-04 schedule on Sunday (Nov. 16), when the Cavaliers host the Rivanna Romp at the Rivanna Reservoir. The competition is scheduled to include crews from the University at Buffalo, the University of Cincinnati, Duke University, Ohio State University and the University of Tennessee.

There will also be a men’s component to the Rivanna Romp hosted by the UVa men’s club rowing team.

The competition begins at 9 a.m. and the schedule is as follows: 9:00 – Varsity women’s 8 9:30 – Varsity men’s 8 10:00 – Novice women’s 8 10:30 – Novice men’s 8 11:00 – Varsity women’s 4 11:30 – Varsity men’s 4 12:00 – Pairs

The Cavaliers have enjoyed a successful fall season, most recently with a strong performance by their varsity eight crew at the Head of the Lake Regatta in Seattle, Wash., on November 9. UVa finished third behind crews from Michigan State and the University of Victoria. The regatta was held on Lake Washington.
