GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Virginia wrestler Paul Bjorlo (Reston, Va./South Lakes) was tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week after going 3-0 in a trio of dual matches for the Cavaliers.

Against Duke on Senior Night at UVa on February 18th, Bjorlo defeated the Blue Devils’ Zach Weisberg at 157-pounds by a count of 7-1 in his final home match as a Cavalier. The following day (February 19th), Bjorlo posted two more wins beginning with a 16-0 technical fall victory over the Terrapins’ Matt Rothstein at 157-pounds to lead Virginia to a 26-11 win over Maryland. The win was UVa’s first conference victory of the season. Later that evening in Washington DC in Virginia’s final match of the regular season, Bjorlo registered a 5-3 decision over American’s Dwayne Hash at 165-pounds as the Cavaliers posted a 24-19 win over the Eagles.

For the season, Bjorlo stands at 25-12 overall, 10-5 in dual match action with three wins coming by fall, two victories by major decision and one win by technical fall.

Earlier this year, UVa’s Rocco Caponi (Uniontown, Ohio/SVSM) was tabbed the ACC Wrestler of the Week on January 10th.

Bjorlo and the Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday, March 5th when UVa (6-11 overall, 1-4 in the ACC) travels to Greensboro, N.C. for the 52nd annual ACC Wrestling Championship. The meet will be held in conjunction with the Southern Conference Wrestling Championship on the campus of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro (UNCG).
