Evans, GA – In a tightly packed field, Virginia shot 10-over 298 during the first round of the Administaff Augusta State Invitational to tie with No. 21 Auburn for 15th overall. The Cavaliers were led by a pair of 1-over 73s by Eamon McLoughin and Conrad Von Borsig. That duo is tied for 27th overall after the first 18 holes of play.

UVa freshman Kyle Stough shot 75 and is 52nd while Greg Carlin is 71st after posting an opening round effort of 77. Daniel Kefale is 76th after shooting 78.

With two players tied for third, No. 17 North Carolina took a three-shot lead after the first round with a 9-under 279. Coastal Carolina is second at 282 and Tennessee is third at 283.

South Carolina’s George Bryan shot 6-under 66 to claim the early stroke play lead. Tennessee’s Jonathan Mount is one shot behind him heading into Saturday’s second round.
