Cavalier Team Shop at JPJA Opens Monday/Online Store Launched

Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia athletics department announced today the official opening of the Cavalier Team Shop at the John Paul Jones Arena and the official launch of the Cavalier Team Shop online at its website, virginiasports.com. With every purchase at these retail outlets, Virginia fans directly support the athletics department.

A wide variety of head gear is available at the Cavalier Team Shop.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 20, the Cavalier Team Shop at the John Paul Jones Arena will be open Monday – Friday, from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The store will soon feature a Greenberry’s coffee location and parking for store visitors is free in the parking lot outside the main entrance to the arena. The Cavalier Team Shop at the John Paul Jones Arena will also be open on the days of home football games and during every home men’s and women’s basketball game.

The Cavalier Team Shop at the John Paul Jones Arena will offer fans a storewide discount of 20 percent from Monday, Aug. 20 – Friday, Aug. 24. The official 2007 Virginia football fan t-shirt is available for purchase exclusively at the Cavalier Team Shop at the arena and online.

The Virginia athletics department has partnered with Sportstoday to build a comprehensive e-commerce offering to better serve the Virginia Athletics fan community online at virginiasports.com. Sportstoday, a division of Musictoday, is headquartered in Charlottesville and is a world leader in connecting teams and athletes directly with their fans. Sportstoday / Musictoday’s list of clients includes Tiger Woods, Jeff Gordon, the New York Knicks, Dave Matthews Band, the Rolling Stones, Kenny Chesney, AC/DC, and Elvis Presley in addition to the Virginia athletics department.

Virginia’s retail and online merchandising shops offer authentic apparel and a wide variety of officially licensed merchandise to meet the needs of every UVa fan. Contests and promotions featuring prizes such as signed jerseys, tickets, and more will be offered to fans on a continual basis in recognition of their patronage and support.

With every purchase made at the two locations, the Virginia athletics department directly benefits.

“The opening of the Cavalier Team Shop at the John Paul Jones Arena and the Cavalier Team Shop online is consistent with our desire to provide exemplary service to our fans at our events and on a daily basis,” Executive Associate Athletics Director Jon Oliver said. “The financial support generated by the Cavalier Team Shop will help the Virginia athletics department in its effort to reach its 10-year goals.”
