Charleston, SC The 14th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team enters Tuesday’s final round of play at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C. in second place in the 22-team field. The Cavaliers shot 4-over 292 during the final round, but fell 13 shots behind ninth-ranked Georgia after the Bulldogs posted a team score of 9-under 279 for a two-day total of 567. Alabama, ranked No. 10, is one shot behind UVa at 581.

Virginia junior Whitney Neuhauser (Barboursville, Va.) is tied for second at 4-under 140 after shooting even-par 72 Monday. Georgia’s Mallory Hetzel leads the field at 7-under 137.

Cavalier seniors Jennie Arseneault (Grinnell, Iowa) and Lene Krog (Lier, Norway) are tied for 21st at 2-over 146. Arseneault shot 74 during the second round while Krog posted a 73. Calle Nielson (Nashville, Tenn.) moved up to 32nd by also shooting 73 to have a two-day total of 149. Joy Kim is in 39th place at 150 after shooting 3-over 75 for the second straight day.

Tuesday’s final round features a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. Live scoring is on the Internet at Golfstat.com.
