WGRQ-FM 95.9 Joins Virginia Football Radio Network

Charlottesville, VA – ­ Jim Kuznar, general manger of Virginia Sports Properties, announced today WGRQ-FM (95.9) in Fredericksburg has joined the Cavaliers’ Football radio broadcasts. The addition expands the list of Network affiliates to 15 stations in addition to flagship station WINA in Charlottesville.

WGRQ-FM’s signal reaches King George County, Orange County, Spotsylvania County, Stafford County, Colonial Beach (Westmoreland Co.) and Fredericksburg.

“The addition of this station in Fredericksburg provides Virginia’s fans in that area a tremendous resource to follow this year’s team,” Kuznar said. “We are proud to have them join our growing list of affiliates on the Virginia Sports Network.”

“We are looking forward to a great season and a great partnership with University of Virginia football,” said Tom Cooper, the station’s general manager. “We’ve gotten a lot of support early on and it looks like Cavalier fans are excited about having football on the radio in the Fredericksburg area.”
