CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The third-ranked Virginia field hockey team (15-2, 2-2 ACC) welcomes Radford for a 5 p.m. game Wednesday at the University Hall Turf Field. The contest will be the final non-conference matchup of the season for the Cavaliers, who then close the regular season Saturday at home against Duke.

UVa is coming off a 2-0 win over No. 6 Wake Forest on the road last weekend. Sophomores Paige Selenski and Michelle Vittese each scored, while the Cavalier defense recorded its 10th shutout of the season.

Selenski continues to pace the attack with 21 goals on the year, including six game-winners. Her 21 scores rank second among ACC leaders. Teammates Tara Puffenberger and Traci Ragukas have also contributed eight and seven goals, respectively, while Inga Stöckel leads the Cavaliers with seven assists.

Virginia is 12-0 against non-conference opponents this season, which includes a 4-0 record against other squads from the commonwealth.

Radford is 9-8 on the year and is coming off a 3-1 win at Appalachian State and a 4-3 loss at Longwood last weekend. Courtney Poole leads the Highlanders with seven scores on the year while Lara Cariker has scored six times and Madon Wadolowski has contributed a team-best six assists.

In the all-time series, Virginia is an undefeated 23-0 against Radford. The two teams did not meet in 2008. The last meeting, in 2007, resulted in a 6-1 Cavalier win at home.
