Slebonick Named to District III Academic All-America Team

Charlottesville, VA – Virginia senior offensive guard Patrick Slebonick of Stafford, Va., has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III football team. Slebonick, and all other players named to the eight all-district teams, will be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America honors. Slebonick is one of five players from Atlantic Coast Conference schools on the District 3 team.
Slebonick has been a starter on special teams at Virginia for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. He is a member of UVa’s student-athlete advisory council and one of the co-founders of the ACE Program at UVa that mentors local elementary school students. He has been named to the UVa Academic Honor Roll six times.
Slebonick completed his undergraduate degree in government in May with a 3.408 grade point average. He currently has a 3.9 GPA as a student in the graduate school of education. He has been named to the ACC’s Academic Honor Roll the past four years.
