Charlottesville, VA – Cavalier head men’s golf coach Bowen Sargent and two of his players open play Monday at the 110th 2010 U.S. Amateur Championships. Sargent is joined by seniors Henry Smart and Amory Davis, at this year’s tournament taking place at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Wash. and The Home Course in DuPont, Wash.

Davis will be the first to play, teeing off at 8:35 a.m. (PT) while playing on The Home Course. Smart tees off at 1:30 p.m. from the 10th tee at Chambers Bay followed by Sargent at 2:10 p.m. The players will switch courses for their second round.

The tournament features 36 holes of stroke play for the 312 golfers in the field before the competition is cut to 64 competitors for the match play portion of the tournament. Match play takes place Wednesday through Sunday.
