Cavalier Golfers Set to Open Season at Fall Preview

Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia men’s golf team heads to Stillwater, Okla. to open its season at Ping/Golfweek Fall Preview. This year’s event is being contest at Karsten Creek, the site of the 2011 NCAA Championships. The 54-hole event will get underway at 8 a.m. (CST) on Sunday and will run through Tuesday with 18 holes being contested each day at the par-72, 7,449-yard layout.
Joining the Cavaliers and host Oklahoma State in this year’s field will be 2010 NCAA Champion Augusta State, Arizona State, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCU, UCLA, UNLV and USC.
Oklahoma State has won The Preview each of the past two years, and five times total since the event began in 1989.
Virginia’s lineup will include sophomore Mac McLaughlin, senior Will Collins, junior Ben Kohles, junior Henry Smart and freshman Benjamin Rusch.
