KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Virginia men’s and women’s divers competed Wednesday on the platform as the final day of the Tennessee Diving Invitational concluded in Knoxville, Tenn.
Freshman Alex Leinroth had a solid meet and wrapped up competition with a 14th-place finish on the platform, earning a score of 212.35. Kelly Lloyd was 34th overall with a mark of 129.10.
For the men, senior Nathan Parker was 27th, finishing with a score of 212.70.
“Alex had another great meet and was just a few points shy of a top-10 finish,” UVa diving coach Rich MacDonald said. “Nathan had a personal-best and it was Kelly’s first time competing on the platform. Since we didn’t dive up to our capabilities yesterday, it was important to end the meet in a positive fashion, and we did that.”
Virginia is back in action Saturday at Tennessee, when both the Cavalier men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will face off against the Volunteers. The dual meet is scheduled for 12 p.m.
