NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – The Virginia track and field team won the college section of the 4x800m relay at the 104th Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden on Friday night by a time of 7:36.27. This marks the second-straight year that the Cavaliers have won the relay title.

Virginia’s quartet of sophomores Brett Johnson, TJ Hobart and Zach Vrhovac, in addition to freshman Anthony Kostelac combined to edge Connecticut at the line, beating the Husky’s time of 7:36.38. Cornell finished third in 7:40.59.

Last year, the Cavaliers’ squad of All-American Lance Roller, Vrhovac, John Minen and NCAA Champion Robby Andrews won the event with a time of 7:32.49.

Up next, Virginia will head back to Blacksburg, Va., for the VT Elite Meet on Friday and Saturday.
