Devvarman and Huey Reach First ATP Final in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES — Virginia alumni Somdev Devvarman and Treat Huey have reached their first career ATP doubles final as they will compete for the title Sunday at the Farmers Classic. The Cavalier duo will play Mark Knowles and Xavier Malisse at noon PT (3 p.m. ET) in the final at the LA Tennis Center on the campus of UCLA.
Devvarman and Huey advanced to the final with three wins. In the first round, the duo upset top-seeded Bruno Soares and Marcelo Melo 6-3, 6-4. They topped Gilles Muller and Jamie Murray 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, they edged former Australian Open champions and fourth-seeded Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich 7-6(6), 6-7(8), 10-4.
A tape delay broadcast of the final will air at 10 p.m. Sunday on the Tennis Channel.
