Virginia Competes at Princeton Chase Sunday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Virginia rowing team continues its fall season at the Princeton Chase on Sunday (Oct. 30) in Princeton, N.J.
The Cavaliers opened the 2011-12 campaign last weekend at the Head of the Charles in Boston. In the championship eights, Virginia placed first and 10th and finished second and was the top collegiate boat in the championship fours.
The Princeton Chase is a headrace competed along a 2.75-mile course on Lake Carnegie and features many of the top collegiate programs on the East Coast.
Virginia finished second, fourth, fifth, 16th and 27th at last year’s event. The ‘Hoos’ novice eight won its race at the regatta.
The Cavaliers conclude fall competition with the Rivanna Romp, held on the Rivanna Reservoir in Charlottesville, Va., on Nov. 13. Races begin at 9 a.m.
