FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – Virginia first-year Mitchell Frank (Annandale, Va.), won his second major singles title of the fall, winning the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship on Sunday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Frank, the top seed in the event, downed eighth-seeded Dennis Nevolo of Illinois 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 in the final.

Frank, who won the ITA All-American Championship, becomes just the fourth player to win both major ITA titles in the same season. He joins MaliVai Washington of Michigan in 1988-89, Sargis Sargsian of Arizona State in 1994-95 and James Blake of Harvard in 1998-99. Frank is the second Virginia player to win the indoor title, along with 2007 champion Somdev Devvarman.

Frank is 12-0 in singles during the fall season, dropping just three sets in the process.
