CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Seven Virginia baseball games will be carried on national or regional television during the 2012 regular season. This marks the most televised UVa regular-season games in program history.

As part of the ACC’s expanded television package this season, four UVa games will air nationally on ESPNU, while two will be regionally broadcast on the ACC’s Regional Sports Networks. One game will be webcast exclusively via ESPN3.

Three games were previously announced as part of the ACC Monday package on ESPNU – March 19 at Florida State, April 9 vs. Wake Forest and April 30 at Miami.

The entire Florida State series will be broadcast by the ESPN family of networks. The March 17 contest at FSU will be carried on ESPNU with an 8 p.m. start time, while the March 18 game in Tallahassee will be webcast by ESPN3 and start at 2 p.m.

Virginia also will have a pair of games televised regionally on RSN on the ACC’s regional Saturday package. The April 28 game at Miami and the May 14 tilt with Georgia Tech at Davenport Field each will air on RSN, which reaches up 24 million households, includes Fox Sports South, Sun Sports, Comcast Sports Atlantic and NESN. All ACC games produced as part of the RSN package will also be available on ESPN3 in locations beyond the RSN territory.

Virginia opens its season Feb. 17-19 at the Caravelle Resort Tournament, hosted by Coastal Carolina.
