Virginia Plays Towson in Exhibition at 11 a.m. Saturday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia baseball team will play Towson in a fall exhibition game at 11 a.m. Saturday at Davenport Field. Admission is free to all fall Virginia baseball action.
Free parking will be available in the University Hall and John Paul Jones Arena lots. Concession and merchandise stands also will be open.
This marks the first of two fall exhibitions this season for Virginia. UVa also will play Georgetown in an exhibition on Oct. 21. Per NCAA regulations, the two fall exhibition games will count toward Virginia’s 56-game regular season for the 2013 season, although the outcomes of these games will not count toward the Cavaliers’ 2013 record. UVa is scheduled to play 54 regular-season games in the spring.
The Towson and Georgetown games are exhibitions with neither the results nor statistics officially counting. Individual game box scores and recaps will not be available, but a complete summary of fall practice will be posted on VirginiaSports.com once the fall schedule has concluded.
