CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis announced its captains for the 2013 season on Tuesday. Seniors Jarmere Jenkins (College Park, Ga.) and Julen Uriguen (Guatemala City, Guatemala) and junior Alex Domijan (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) will lead the Cavaliers this season.

“Alex, Jarmere and Julen are all deserving to be chosen by their peers as tri-captains for the 2013 spring season,” said head coach Brian Boland. “They have not only worked extremely hard in developing their own tennis, but they have also evolved into outstanding leaders who are passionate, committed and prepared to lead our team this upcoming season. The coaching staff is extremely proud of the commitment Alex, Jarmere and Julen have demonstrated to the responsibilities that come with being team captains.”

Jenkins is a captain for the second consecutive season. The 2012 ACC Player of the Year, he was a singles and doubles All-American last season. He is currently ranked No. 4 in both the ITA singles and doubles rankings.
