Hilton Head, S.C. – The 19th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team remained in ninth place following the second round of play at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate taking place at the Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, S.C. Virginia shot 19-over 303 Saturday for a two-day total of 36-over 604. Vanderbilt used a 2-under 282 to climb into first place at 10-over 578. LSU is second at 581.

Virginia sophomore Briana Mao equaled the low round of her career with a 2-under 69 to lead the Cavaliers during the second round. She moved up to 16th place overall at 6-over 148. Brittany Altomare carded a score of 7-over 78 to drop back to 26th at 150.

Cavaliers Portland Rosen and Elizabeth Brightwell are tied for 42nd at 153. Rosen shot 79 and Brightwell carded a score of 77 during the second round. Lauren Coughlin rounded out the UVa scoring in 64th place at 160. She also shot 79 during the second round.

Virginia will start its final round at 9:30 a.m. Sunday while paired with UCF and Tennessee. The Cavaliers will start on seventh tee with a shotgun start.
