MIAMI – Virginia men’s tennis alumni will be in action Sunday at the Sony Open, an ATP Masters 1000 Series event in Key Biscayne. Somdev Devvarman (Class of 2008) has a singles third round match against world No. 1 Novak Djokovic. In doubles, the team of Treat Huey (Class of 2008) and Dominic Inglot (Class of 2009) meet fifth-seeded Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer in a second round match.

The Devvarman-Djokovic match will the fourth and final match of the morning/afternoon session on stadium court. It will likely start late afternoon or early evening and will be shown during Tennis Channel’s coverage of the Sony Open. It is the first all-time meeting between Devvarman and Djokovic. It is Devvarman’s second career match against a world No. 1, having lost to then-No. 1 Rafael Nadal 7-5, 6-4 in the round of 16 of Indian Wells in 2011.

Huey and Inglot’s match will be the first match of the day on Court 3 and start at noon. There is no TV coverage of that court.
