TULSA, Okla. – The ITA All-American Championships, the first major individual tournament of the season, continued pre-qualifying play Sunday at the Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa.

First-year Jordan Daigle (Lafayette, La.) won a pair of matches to advance to the final round of pre-qualifying after winning his first round match late Saturday night. He downed Aaron Dujovne of Purdue 7-5, 6-7(4), 7-5 in the final first round match to finish after midnight on Saturday night. He turned opened Sunday’s action with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Tom Blackwell of Nebraska. Later in the day he topped third-seeded Skikar Alla of Rice, 5-7, 7-5, 6-4. He plays Sam Shropshire of Northwestern for a place in the qualifying draw.

Fellow first-year J.C. Aragone (Yorba Linda, Calif.) lost to Kevin Metka of Ohio State in the second round, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Daigle joins three other Cavaliers in the qualifying draw, which begins Monday. Sophomore Harrison Richmond (Pawleys Island, S.C.) is the No. 4 seed, and senior Justin Shane (Falls Church, Va.) and first-year Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (Charlotte, N.C) are also in the draw.

Virginia has four players in the main draw, which begins Thursday. The 2010 and 2012 ITA All-American Champion Alex Domijan (Sr., Wesley Chapel, Fla.) and 2011 ITA All-American Champion Mitchell Frank (Jr., Annandale, Va.) are looking to keep the Cavaliers’ streak of championships going, as are sophomores Mac Styslinger (Birmingham, Ala) and Ryan Shane (Falls Church, Va.).
