Franklin, Tenn. – â€Ã¢Ã¢â€š¬Ã…“ The Virginia women’s golf rebounded during the second round of Vanderbilt’s Mason Rudolph Challenge to stand in seventh place after 36 holes of play. The Cavaliers shot 3-under 285 on Saturday for a two-day total of 12-over 588. UVA’s score was the second best of the second round. The Cavaliers shot 15-over 303 during the first of competition.

Alabama posted a 10-under score of 278 to take the overall lead at 562, 18 shots ahead of second place Northwestern.

UVA senior Lauren Diaz-Yi (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and sophomore Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) both posted second-round scores of 3-under 69 to lead the Cavaliers. Diaz-Yi moved up to 10th place at 1-under 143 while Redding improved to 14th at 145.

Sophomore Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) is in 16th place at 146 after shooting 71. Classmate Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) shot 76 and is 59th at 154. Freshman Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) is 77th at 161. Junior Sarah Kolodzik (Bellbrook, Ohio), who is competing as an individual in the field, shot 77 and dropped back to 46th at 151.

UVA will be paired with Vanderbilt and Baylor during Sunday’s final round. Those teams will tee off starting at 8 a.m. from the first tee. Live scoring is online at BirdieFire.com.
