CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s tennis team senior Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (Charlotte, N.C.) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (April 18) by the league office.

Kwiatkowski led the Cavaliers to a 2-0 weekend with wins over No. 18 Georgia Tech and Boston College. Kwiatkowski defeated No. 5 Christopher Eubanks in a singles battle, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (6), winning both sets in tiebreakers. He also won the deciding doubles match to clinch the point for Virginia as well as collecting a doubles win against the Eagles to improve to 15-1 in doubles matches this season with partner senior Alexander Ritschard (Zurich, Switzerland).

This is Kwiatkowski’s first career ACC Player of the Week honor. It its the second time a Cavalier received the accolade this season as senior J.C. Aragone (Yorba Linda, Calif.) was voted the player of the week on Feb 21 after clinching UVA’s victory in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.

The Cavaliers host Richmond on Tuesday, April 18 at 4 p.m. at the Snyder Tennis Center before closing out the regular season with road matches this weekend at Miami and Florida State.
