CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s tennis team took part in Collegiate National Champions Day at the White House in Washington D.C. on Friday, Nov. 17.

The 2017 national champions joined other selected title teams (with the exception of football and basketball) from the 2016-17 academic year for a special recognition at the White House. The teams participating in Friday’s ceremony received a tour of the White House and will had a photo opportunity with President Trump.

This was the second visit to the White House for the program as the Cavaliers were also honored after winning the title in 2013.

Other teams in attendance were Texas A&M women’s equestrian and men’s indoor track and field teams, Penn State men’s wrestling and women’s rugby team, Maryland’s men’s and women’s lacrosse teams, Washington women’s rowing team, Ohio State men’s volleyball team, Oklahoma men’s golf , softball team and men’s and women’s gymnastics teams, McKendree women’s bowling team, West Virginia’s rifle team, Arizona State’s triathlon team, Utah’s skiing team and Florida’s baseball team.
