#MVH (Most Valuable Hoo)

Congratulations to #UVABase sophomore infielder Tanner Morris (far right) who was named the MVP of his Cape Cod Baseball League team. The short stop is batting .331 this season, the fifth highest batting average in the league, with 20 RBI. The team wrapped up the regular season on Thursday night, announced their season-award winners on Friday morning and will begin the playoff on Saturday by hosting Chatham, a battle between the second and third place teams in the division.
 

Hoo’s the Captain

Former #UVASD All-American Leah Smith was named a captain for the Pan Pacific Championships. Smith will lead the U.S. team in Tokyo Aug. 9-14. Smith was tied for the highest point total at last week’s Phillips 66 U.S. National Championships, picking up 64 points and earning spots in the field of the 4×200-meter freestyle relay, the 400-meter freestyle and the 800-meter freestyle in Tokyo.
