Champion Hoos

Former #UVAMSOC player Eric Bird and assistant coach Oliver Gage were are members of the 2018 Open Cup Champion Houston Dynamo. Bird is in his first season with the club as a midfielder. Gage was an operations assistant on the 2014 Virginia National Championship team and serves as the Dynamo Head of Performance Analysis & Technical Recruitment.

Former #UVABase standout and current Washington Nationals pitcher Sean Doolittle was given the ‘Good Guy’ Award, as part of the third-annual end-of-season awards voted on by the local media. The award is annually given to a player who is exceptionally accommodating to the media and involved in the community. Doolittle supplanted another former Cavalier, Ryan Zimmerman, who has won it the past two seasons.
