Professor Heeeeeeath

During an illustrious college and professional football career, former #UVAFB great Heath Miller shied away from the spotlight. The soft-spoken tight end preferred to let his play do his talking, which, in a blue-collar city like Pittsburgh, was very much appreciated. But on Tuesday morning, Miller, who now makes his home in the Charlottesville area, was in an unexpected place: in front of a classroom filled with aspiring sports journalists at his alma mater. We Stand With Pittsburgh

Tonight at 7:30, #UVAFB hosts Pitt in a pivotal ACC clash. There is definitely a lot of buzz and excitement for the rare Friday night primetime game with a national telecast on ESPN2, but there is also another layer after the tragedy that befell the Pittsburgh community and Tree of Life congregation last week. The UVA Alumni Association, known for handing out game day buttons with clever sayings centered on that week’s opponents (such as last week’s “UN-C U Later” buttons) is going a different direction. They will hand out stickers which say “We Stand With Pittsburgh”. If you are heading to the game tonight, stop by the Football Weekends tailgate at Alumni Hall to get yours and show that you, too, stand with Pittsburgh.
