Hoos No. 1


College Football News released its annual rankings of schools, combining football and men’s basketball success, with Virginia ranking as the top team in the nation. The top five were 1) Virginia 2) Oklahoma 3) Ohio State 4)Washington 5)Michigan. You can read the full article here.

espnW Campus Connections


On Monday night, espnW hosted a seminar for all of the UVA female student athletes featuring a panel of former Cavaliers who were speaking on the topic of the transition the takes place after college. The panel, featuring former UVA athletes Kim Hatchett (track and field, executive director/private wealth adviser for Morgan Stanley), Michelle Cusimano Vachris (field hockey and lacrosse, assistant general counsel for CBS), Lauren Morrissey (lacrosse, vice president for affiliate sales and marketing for ESPN) and Kaili Torres (soccer, masters candidate at the prestigious NYU Film School). Also taking part in the discussion, within breakout sessions later in the evening, were former UVA basketball player Monica Wright, former soccer player Morgan Stearns and former field hockey and lacrosse player Peggy Boutilier Williams.
