Hall of Fame Hoo

Congratulations to former #UVAFB player Billy Baber who will be inducted into the Virginia High School Hall of Fame on June 23rd. The Virginia High School Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Virginia High School League (VHSL), is inducting five players and five coaches this year who have made outstanding contributions to high school athletic and activity programs. Baber was a three-sport standout at Western Albemarle, playing tight end, defensive end for the football team, as well as punting. He averaged 22.2 yards per catch and earned all-district, all-region, and all-state honors, including Group AA 1st team tight end selection by the Associated Press as a senior…named 1st team all-region at both tight end and defensive end as a senior. At UVA, he was a standout tight end, being drafted in the fifth round of the 2001 NFL draft.
