Fourth Year Profile

UVA Today shares this profile of #UVABase senior pitcher Chesdin Harrington, who states “we have an opportunity and a responsibility to be good role models for kids and society generally.” Harrington won two honors at last night’s Hoos Choice awards that recognized his dedication to that principle, the Ernest H Ern Jr. Award and the Wahoowa Award.
 

A Bet’s a Bet

Leading up to last month’s Final Four, the local chambers of commerce for the four teams involved agreed to a friendly bet. When Virginia beat Texas Tech in the NCAA title game, the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce won that bet winning a cooler full of steaks from the meat science program at Texas Tech. Charlottesville Chamber president Elizabeth Cromwell presented them as a surprise gift for UVA Director of Event Management Mike Doto for his work behind the scenes during the Cavaliers’ postseason run.
