Hoos an All-Star

Congratulations to former #UVABase standout Andy Weber who has been named to the Eastern roster for the 2019 Midwest League All-Star game. The short stop, who was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the fifth round of the 2018 MLB draft, is batting .263 this season in 54 games with a .922 ielding percentage.

The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup begins today (the United States won’t play its first match until Tuesday, June 11) but as the world’s eyes begin to focus on the pitch, UVAToday caught up with Virginia head coach Steve Swanson. Swanson is serving as an assistant coach with the US Women’s National Team for the second straight Women’s World Cup and will be coaching three UVA women’s soccer alums with Morgan Brian, Becky Sauerbrunn and Emily Sonnett all on the squad.
