CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior guard Kyle Guy (Indianapolis, Ind.) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday (Jan. 7).
 
Guy averaged 25.5 points and 6.5 rebounds as No. 4 Virginia posted wins against Marshall (100-64) and No. 9 Florida State (65-52). The 6-2 sharpshooter set a UVA school record with 11 consecutive 3-pointers over the two-game span. Guy shot 68 percent from the field (17-of-25), 80 percent from 3-point range (12-of-15) and was a perfect 5-of-5 from the charity stripe in the two wins.
 
Guy tallied career highs in points (30), rebounds (8) and 3-pointers (7) against Marshall. He added 21 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the field and 5 of 6 from 3-point range, in the ACC win against the Seminoles. Guy is shooting 48.3 percent from 3-point range this season, and his 3.15 made 3-pointers per game leads all ACC players.
 
Guy joins teammate De’Andre Hunter (Nov. 26) as ACC Player of the Week honorees.
 
ACC weekly honors are determined by a vote of a 15-member media panel and are announced on Mondays throughout the regular season.
 
No. 4 Virginia (13-0) travels to Boston College on Wednesday, Jan. 9. Tipoff at Conte Forum is set for 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
